We left the big tourist crowds behind and started the final leg of our journey around the top end of Lake Michigan. We swam at secluded beaches, watched the sunrise and sunset over the lake and a first for almost all of us was watching the moonrise over the lake at J.G. Wells State Park. By the last day of the tour we were already talking about where to go next summer.

Straits of Mackinac to Manitowoc

Day 15 - Field of spider webs

Sunset at Hog Island Point Campground

Kibitzers hanging out on the beach at sunset.

Enjoying his first unsupported tour.

A penny for his thoughts

Sharing a rock

Day 16 - Riding out with the mist

Leaving Hog Island after a peaceful night

What's that bottle on the back for?

Still smiling after all those miles.

This small town had no cafe for the traditional Kibitzer breakfast.

New surface on Highway 2

Catching up on news at home.

Birthday celebration at Manistique Supper Club.

.

Birthday boy doesn't have to eat our camp cooking

Day 18 - Pollution and traffic in Escanaba.

One of the best breakfast places on the tour.

Looking for gifts inside Swedish Pantry Restaurant.

No one went away hungry after a great Swedish breakfast.

This Kibitzer wallet has seen better days.

We always take time to smell the flowers.

Taking a break along Hwy 35.

A watched kettle never boils!

We each took responsibility for planning at least one meal.

Say What!

Who the hell is Bob?

Doing laundry is always one of the first orders of business after setting up camp.

Moonrise over Lake Michigan

Watching the moonrise

Day 19 - The Wild Bunch

Where is that creek?

A perfect place for another break.

Looking across Green Bay.

Peshtigo Fire Monument and Museum.

The Peshtigo fire took place the same year as the Chicago Fire. At least 800 people lost their lives.

Which way are we going?

Oconto County Courthouse

We never did find out why this building had several Stars of David as part of its design.

Reflecting after a long day's ride.

Day 20 - Morning snack before heading out.

He's a child at heart.

Some Kibitzers used their phones more than others! We thought this Kibitzer's phone was his extra appendage.

Who needs a bed to catch a few winks?

How does he get that leg so high?

Day 21 - Heading back toward Lake Michigan on the last day's ride.

Who says we're chasing windmills?

With a little fixing this could be the Kibitzer retirement facility.

The end of the road for a great trip. The Kibitzers who left Chicago traveled over 900 miles.
