Al, Jerry, Mike and Peter were escorted out of Chicago by fellow Kibitzers. Their first week of riding would take them up the shore of Lake Michigan to Illinois Beach State Park. They then headed inland to Lake Geneva and up through the Kettle Moraine to eventually rendezvous with seven other Kibitzers in Manitowoc. The group boarded the SS Badger and ferried across the lake to Michigan. For the next two weeks, we bicycled around the lake visiting places like Sleepy Bear Dunes, Petoskey, Mackinaw Island, Manistique, Escanaba, Peshtigo and Green Bay just to name a few. The total mileage for those who left from Chicago was over 900 miles.
